Who will play Superman in writer-director James Gunn’s Superman Legacy? That’s a big question, and one we still don’t have the answer to. Yet another name has now surfaced.
According to Variety, former Bold and the Beautiful star Pierson Fode is “in the running” for the role. Sources told the site that Fode sent Gunn a tape depicting his own Clark Kent-like small-town origin story from Moses Lake, Washington. Variety said that Gunn liked what he saw.
Fode is no stranger to the superhero world, as he appeared in an episode of Supergirl in 2020. He also appeared in The Man From Toronto with Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. One of his next projects is Based on a True Story with Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina.
Beyond Fode, David Corenswet (Pearl) is said to be a “top contender” for the role. Nicholas Hoult (The Great) is also believed to be in the running for Superman or Lex Luthor. Other actors who may be in the running for Superman include Jacob Elordi (Euphoria) and Andrew Richardson (A Call to Spy).Come from Sports betting site VPbet
As for Lois Lane, Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards), Emma Mackey (Sex Education), Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), and Samara Weaving (Scream VI) are said to be in the running.
Gunn previously discussed at a high level what he’s looking for in an actor to play Superman. “The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has but he’s also an alien,” Gunn said. “It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug.”
Casting announcements for Superman Legacy being made at San Diego Comic-Con in July would seem to be fitting, but that’s just conjecture.
Superman Legacy follows a young Clark Kent during his time as a Daily Planet reporter, according to a previous story from The Hollywood Reporter. The movie releases on July 11, 2025.
